NOTICE OF CHANGES TO COMPOUNDING PRACTICES AT DOLLAR DRUG EFFECTIVE 1/1/2017

Late in September of 2016 the California State Board of Pharmacy chose to adopt a new code of regulations governing the practice of pharmacy within the state. These regulations represent a major overhaul of the existing laws and apply primarily to compounding pharmacies. The new law takes effect in January of 2017 and is considered public record. A copy of the law can be found at: http://www.pharmacy.ca.gov/laws_regs/1735_ooa_clean.pdf

We would like our valued customers and colleagues in the health care industry to know that there may be some changes to our current practices as well as a temporary disruption of compounding services while upgrades to our facility are being made. We will still be performing all existing services but turnaround times, pricing and expiration dating for compounded prescriptions may be affected. We greatly appreciate your ongoing patronage and patience during this exciting time which we expect to occur in the first quarter of 2017.

Dollar Drug takes pride in the quality compounding services we currently provide and for that reason we are excited to announce to the community that we will be building an entirely new laboratory within our existing facility.  This modern facility will ensure that we continue to provide custom prescriptions of the highest quality that meet all state and federal regulatory requirements for the foreseeable future. Thanks again for your understanding and we look forward to working with you soon.

Attention Customers with Compounded Medications

All compounded medications take up to 3 business days to prepare when our lab is open. Lab hours are from 9am – 5:00pm, Mondays – Fridays. The lab is closed on the weekend and on store holidays.

Any compounded medication that is received in the lab after 5:00pm will not be processed until the following morning. Any compounded medications called in on a Thursday or Friday will likely be completed early the following week. If you have any questions, please contact us at 707-575-1313.

Thank you!
